Every year we try to make a batch of boxes to be sent to Samaritan’s Purse for their Operation Christmas Child program.
This year, we packed 120 boxes! As you can see from the pictures, it was a chilly fall day, but everybody had fun, and warmed up afterwards with hot soup and fresh homemade rolls!
All of the boxes were lovingly packed, labeled, and stored in the trailer to await National Collection Week, when we could send them on to Samaritan’s Purse for distribution.
This week was National Collection Week, so on Wednesday we recruited a few volunteers to help unload, and toted the boxes in the trailer to our local drop-off center in the middle of town.
The friendly folks there helped us unload them and sort them.
Then we had to double-check that they were all labeled correctly before we packed them into boxes for transportation.
No sooner sorted than packed!
After they were all securely packed away, we gathered around to pray over them before we stacked them with all the rest of the boxes ready to be shipped off to Samaritan’s Purse.
And they’re off! We have tracking labels attached to most of them, so hopefully in a few months we’ll know where these boxes end up.
Thank you to everyone who gave of their time, money, or expertise to make this happen again this year! Thank the Lord for the opportunity to use the blessings He’s blessed us with to bless others! Please pray for these gifts that they would be a reflection of Christ’s love to the little ones who receive them.
